  • This is a very special event.  I am excited to perform this concert that will feature a theatrical presentation of the songs of the album.  I hope it will be a very spiritual and moving experience.  Because of the technical elements of the performance I don’t know when the next time will be that I will be able to perform it again, so don’t miss it.  Please come!!

First, let me make everyone aware that the May 1st concert today at the Salt Lake Institute building has been cancelled.  I apologize for this.  Please know that I do not have a habit of canceling performances.  The reason for the sudden cancellation is that there is an important audition in New York that recently came to my attention and I strongly felt that I should attend.  As an actor, it is important for me to take advantage of every opportunity I can to get work, so I decided to bow out of the concert.

Second of all, please notice that the “Prayer” album release concert will be happening in just a couple of weeks, so please get your tickets soon and be sure to come!  I’m very excited about it!  It should be a great performance.

My wife, Rachel, and I recently returned from performing two successful concerts in southeastern Utah, one in Green River and the other in Blanding.  Green River is the small town where I grew up, and Blanding is the place where my father and grandparents grew up.  It was a thrilling experience for me to return to the place where it all started and where I have my roots.  It really struck me how important it is that we never forget the wonderful people who have impacted our lives for good, helped shape us into who we are, and who have enabled us to get where we are today.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the “Prayer” album release concert on May 15th!

There are no new events to add to the calendar, but there are a few details to add:

  • Ross Boothe will be the featured accompanist for the "Prayer" concert on May 15th
  • Anne-Marie Hildebrandt will be the opening act for our Concert in the Park on June 1st

You can find more information about these events and the talented people involved in the following section.

  • This concert is very significant for me as we celebrate the official release of my debut solo album, “Prayer.”  The presentation of the songs will be theatrical with set pieces, props, lighting, live musicians, and an inspirational script connecting all the songs together.
  • I'm excited to feature my good friend, Ross Boothe, composer of the song "I Have Seen Him," as accompanist for this concert.

Concert in the Park, June 1, 8:00 pm, at the Brigham Young Park in Salt Lake City, Utah

  • Attendance is FREE!
  • This concert is part of the Temple Square performances “Concert in the Park” series.  Both Rachel and I will be performing.  I will have CD’s available for purchase just outside the gates of the park.
  • We're happy to welcome accomplished musician and recording artist Anne-Marie Hildebrandt as our opening act. Check out her website at www.amhmusic.com.

Nauvoo Pageant, July 6–August 3, Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 pm (pre-show) and 8:45 pm (pageant), at the Nauvoo Outdoor Theatre in Nauvoo, Illinois

  • Attendance is FREE.  Seating is on a first-come-first-seated basis.
  • Rachel and I will be reprising the roles of Emma and Joseph Smith in this incredible pageant that tells the moving story of the building of the Nauvoo temple, and of the faith and courage exhibited by the early settlers of Nauvoo who were the beginnings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Nauvoo has become a very special home away from home for my family and I.  It will be wonderful to return and participate again in this incredible production that honors the memories and lives of such great men and women of faith.

(Nothing new this month!)

Rachel and I recently visited the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles.  It was incredible!  I would not exaggerate by saying it was life-changing.  After viewing the planetarium show and the “Big Picture” display that showed an actual picture of the billions of galaxies and stars there are in just a portion of the night sky that we could cover with our finger, we were both led to exclaim: “O, Lord, how great Thou art!”  It is incredibly humbling to think that God created this incomprehensible universe and governs it all, and yet He still knows each of us by name and we can pray to Him as our Father.  Prayer is truly a miracle!  Far more powerful than any other form of communication that we could ever dream of here on earth.  Which makes the following scripture found in Psalms 55:17 even more remarkable: “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.”

Thanks again for your support!  May God bless!

Sincerely,

Dallyn Vail Bayles
